Dartford Building Services is a local building team working across Dartford and the surrounding north Kent area. We carry out house extensions, loft conversions, home renovations, kitchen and bathroom refits, garden rooms and general building work — managing each project properly from the first conversation through to handover.
We are a small, experienced team. Not a franchise operation, not a large contractor farming work out to whoever is available — a consistent group of tradespeople and project managers who know the local housing stock, understand what Dartford’s varied mix of properties actually needs, and take responsibility for the work we carry out.
Dartford’s housing spans a wide range. The Victorian and Edwardian terraces of the town centre and the streets around Dartford station. The post-war estates of Bean, Sutton-at-Hone and Swanley. The newer residential developments along the Thames Gateway corridor. The older village properties of Fawkham, Hartley and the surrounding parishes. Each era and each property type brings different building challenges — different materials, different structural characteristics, different planning considerations. We have worked across all of it, and we bring the right approach to each.
Most of our work comes through recommendation. That tells you more about how we operate than anything else we could say.
Building work done correctly is largely invisible once it is finished — the extension roof does not leak, the bathroom tiles stay fixed, the structural beam sits level and the making good is clean. The failures only become visible when something was not done correctly in the first place. We carry out every stage of every project to the standard that keeps problems from developing — using a consistent team of trusted tradespeople who have worked with us over time, not whoever is cheapest and available on the day. Dartford’s housing stock includes properties where previous work has been done poorly. We do not add to that problem.
We give fixed, itemised quotes based on what the project actually involves. We visit the property, assess what is there, and price from what we find — not from assumptions. We do not quote low to win the job and recover the difference through variations once you have committed. On Dartford’s older housing stock — the Victorian terraces of the town centre, the inter-war and post-war properties across the wider area — strip-out and groundwork occasionally reveals conditions that were not visible at the quoting stage. When that happens, we tell you immediately, explain what we found and give you a clear cost before proceeding.
You have a direct line to the person managing your project — not a customer service team, not a central office. We keep you informed at every stage: what is happening, what is coming next, what we need from you and when. If something changes — a material delivery delay, a finding behind a wall, a weather hold on external work — you hear about it from us before it becomes a problem. Most of the frustration homeowners experience during building projects comes from not knowing what is happening. We take that off the table by keeping communication straightforward throughout.
We show up when we say we will. We have the right trades on site at the right stage of the project. We do not take on more work than we can properly manage and then spread the team thin across multiple jobs simultaneously. When something is not right, we put it right — that is not a policy, it is just how we work. We have operated in Dartford and the surrounding north Kent area long enough to understand that our reputation is built project by project, and we protect it by treating every job — regardless of size or value — with the same level of attention.
Tell us what you are planning and we will come out to take a look — clear pricing, no pressure, same day response.
